All good things must come to an end. That said, the natural outgrowth of this show is "The Bohn Zone" with Dieter Bohn. Please make that podcast happen.

    Thanks for keeping it sharp!
I'm really going to miss this podcast. After trying out a ton of tech podcasts over the years with disappointment, I stumbled on this one and was instantly hooked, looking forward to it every week. Walt and Nilay know their stuff, and listening to their analyses kept me sharpened both as a nerd and a consumer. Too many podcasts are either overly dry or so unprofessional that they degrade into an hour of inside jokes that are of no interest to anyone except the podcasters, but Walt and Nilay hit the sweet spot of balancing valuable insight with a light tone. Bravo fellas!

Love this show -- Waltercation is the best tech journalist I've ever read/listened to.
    'nuff said.

    Fresh Perspectives Needed
I just hope Nilay keeps doing this podcast after Mossberg retires. I understand the respect and reverence for the sage old newspaper man but it's seriously time for some fresh perspectives from someone who doesn't judge everything as it compares to Apple, Inc.

    Great chemistry between the hosts
you can't get Walt's tech perspective anywhere else. Thanks.

    Sad to see it go
I hate tech journalism. It can be so vapid, a circle-jerk of wanna-be techies salivating over new tech or foaming at the mouth about this or that latest gossip. It's all the worst of the tabloids. Except this podcast. Walt Mossberg is the only technology journalist I can listen to or read without feeling like I just experienced an episode of Black Mirror. He is the pinnacle of credentialed, and he is a fairly modest writer. His loftiness is always hesitant, and comes with excellent rationalization and research. Walt & Nilay certainly discuss the latest trends but they recognize that simply following trends avoids the substance of the issue, so they devote time to the true substance. If there's no substance, then they spend maybe 5 minutes on it. If I wanted the same drivel as Hacker News, I'd read Hacker News. I don't, so I listen to this podcast. Its duration, content, and hosts are always excellent. My only hope is that more tech journalism finds this voice as Walt retires.

    Love this podcast.
Great chemistry, but more importantly, great knowledge, is what sets this podcast apart from others.

I've enjoyed listening to this "new" podcast these past few years. A shame it didn't start sooner.

    The Only 'unbiased' Verge
Bye Walt. You are one of those Tech Columnist that are Genuine ,and Not like Nilay aka. the Samsung wh*re. Give the Samsung narrative a middle Finger when you go out.You are one of the only tech reviewers who tells it like it is ,and doesn't make excuses for either Samsung & Apple. Happy Retirement. From a 20 year old who has been following your work on the Journal & Recode since 2010. Btw when you leave I am cutting all my ties to Vox stuff including the Verge. Take care.

    Great conversation
Great conversations. Too bad Walt is retiring soon. He will be missed.
  • Ctnewb
    Horrible!
I never heard of more biased podcast. Nilay tries to be balanced all around but Walt is the most biased person in the tech press industry.

    Excellent podcast
I look forward to new episodes of Ctrl-Walt-Delete every Thursday. Walt Mossberg and Nilay Patel provide insightful commentary on the world of tech and its impacts on our every day lives, including issues such as immigration, employment, surveillance, elections, etc. This is by far my favorite podcast and I enjoy the banter between Walt and Nilay, and of course the weekly mention of Dieter Bohn. Sometimes, though, I wish I could clear Walt’s throat for him.

    A gem of a podcast
If I only had the time for one podcast in a week, this would be my choice. Thoughtful deep dives from two very charismatic tech heads.

    Great
Walt and Patel are great together.

    Smart tech conversations
Nilay and Walt clearly know as much about what is happening in tech as anyone. They also have actual opinions, not just the anodyne responses you hear from commentators afraid of annoying the tech companies.

    Best Tech POD available. Period.
Mr. Mossberg and Mr. Patel provide the best tech news POD available. Period. I listen to many and there are many that are excellent. But Ctrl-Walt-Delete is without a doubt the most thoughtful, critical and intelligent out there. They have their share of fun for sure. Sometimes they are incredibly goofy. But they also provide very thoughtful, well reasoned commentary on important Tech and Media issues of the day.

    Entertaining, informative and tight, BUT...
Podcast with a great structure, great tech topics and all wrapped up by Walt Mossberg and Nilay Patel that are both 10/10 would listen again and again talk anything. HOWEVER: Some topics will be extremely US-oriented so the non-US listeners would be semi-bored at some certain points, especially when talked about TV bundles, cellular providers and other very US-specific things. Get ready to either skip through those parts/episodes, or simply listen and learn about US culture and businesses. It is up to you and you've been warned :)

just wanted to give a rating for one of the best Apple centric podcasts out there, always look forward to your next episode! Keep up the great work!

    Got too political
Was an avid listener since day one of this podcast and loved it. It was great to learn about new products and what big players in the industry are doing. Lately all they want to talk about is fake news. Its not as bug of deal as they are making it. We don't need 4 shows in a row about this. I get that this can be an issue and it shouldn't be partisan. But its obvious they are blaming trumps victory on this even though since the internet was created people have always said not to trust everything on it and you need to be cautious. Let the internet be open and let people vet there own reading. We don't need the government and companies messing it up more. Love Walt and Nilay's commentary on products and strategy, but just can't take the political crap. I get plenty of that everywhere. Sadly I'm unsubscribed now after over a year.

Great pod. Idk if they mention Dieter enough though. He seems a bit marginalized here...

Grumpy old men yelling at the cloud
If you enjoy Statler and Waldorf then this is the podcast for you. These old guys complain about technology and grump about computer companies. Highly entertaining.

One of my favorite podcasts of all time
Crtl-Walt-Delete and Vergecast tie as my favorite podcasts and the ones I can't wait for every week. Crtl-Walt-Delete is great for in-depth discussion when it comes to specific topics. I love it. I always come away having learned something new or having a better understanding about something. It has also pushed me to have a greater interest in technology and how it affects us and how we affect it. Thank you for all your amazing work, Walt and Nilay!

    Historical Context
I like how Nilay pulls Walt's past articles, which often gives interesting historical context to today's tech topics.

X-over episode with The Veergecast going to Apple was horrible journalism from Walt
I have listen to this podcast since day one and listener for The Vergecast since the Engadget days and this was by for the most obscene piece of journalism since the formation of All Things D, ReCode, and The Verge. I understand that Walt has this long standing relationship with Apple and he is generally the top fan boy for them, but to consistantly interupt Dieter, Lauren, and Nilay every single time they tried to bring up a not so shiny moment of the keynote was disrespectful to them and complete bias not rooted in any facts. You could hear the frustration from Dieter as the episode went on while Nilay and Lauren are trying to laugh it off as "good old Walt". It took me 5 tries to finish the episode because of the distain for the unbias and this is coming from someone who didn't mind Joshua Topolsky's interupts for years. My proof, take the moment Walt brought up writing the column months ago about how Apple needs to make their default apps (which I agree on) better. Before he went into the column he spent a good 30 secs trying to smooth over what he was going to say as to critize but not hurt the feelings of a COMPANY. Look I get you have to have relationships with companies in journalism so that you are invited back to the bigger events (See Gizmodo borrowing the iPhone 4 ahead of the launch even and the trouble that got them into with Apple) but never, ever should you give up your journalistic integrity for it like Walt did with that episode. Walt did his best to abosultey make this an iVerge episode and he succeeded. I will be sticking with The Vergecast (please bring back the video ones from time to time), removing ReCode from my RSS feed, and never clicking on his weekly article from The Verge again. Something positive: Love Ashley Carman on The Vergecast and her posts on Circuit Breaker.

Love listening to Walt and Nilay
Walt and Nilay dive into the weeds of the tech world and often come up with some pretty interesting points regarding what technology means for us as a society and a nation. Love the pace and light hearted nature of the show.

    Excellent
Really enjoying listening to both of you... Have been reading Walts reviews for years and this is just a pleasure to listen to... Keep up the good work!!!!

    Best Tech Commentary
The banter between both Walt and Nilay make the show. You also get to hear about new products, apps, and the state of Tech.

But I’ve been slacking in writing a review. Top notch podcast and I love the dialog between Nilay and Walt.

Huge respect for Walt and that Nilay guy too I guess. 😉
I don't always agree, but it's always great discussion. Love these guys!

    Love your show!
I've been a subscriber for quite a while. I love your show! There is a great mix of information, reviews, and the general back and forth which makes for podcast that is fun to listen to. I look forward to each new episode and listen to them first (pushing other shows down my list)
  • Vietcent
sometimes good, but most of the time is grandpa storytelling than critical thinking
some topics, the two have engaged in good discussion of the future of tech (mostly Apple), but most of the time it's indifferent episodes with the same structure 1. Nilay praises Walt 2. Nilay reads passages from Walt's writing and compares it to the present, stroking the man's ego. 3. Nilay fake laughs at every Walt joke 4. Walt mumble his way and relies on his Apple/Steve Jobs relationship background to carry his thought process.

A tech show I can listen to
Finally, a tech show with some personality behind it! Great info and well presented. Fun - believe it or not - and informative.
  • Akk0202
On my top tech podcast list
Been following Walt since his WSJ days and his attempt in podcasting with the Verge is amazing.. Critical analysis on major topics of the day. Not long, not short. Just the right length. Keep it up!
