internet billTrans people are not up for debateI was floored the other week when Saul Gameron was allowed to deny the existence of trans people without being challenged by Bill or anyone else, defying the international scientific consensus on the issue. Especially while LGBTQ people are increasingly under attack. If a guest was on here denying that humans cause climate change, would you invite them back on the show? Please stop hosting bigoted political consultants with little knowledge of the issues at hand. I expect a range of viewpoints but some of the regular conservatives are far out of step with Seattle politics.

RSFiredUpInformative, butCan you please stop hosting transphobic bigots? I don’t think you all would find it acceptable for literally any other minority, but you brought on Saul Gamoran to say that transgender people do not exist. He’s a bigot; you knew it before you brought him on and you definitely ought to know it now.

chiroptera2018Great show but some panelists are uninformedI love this show, but Lauryn (especially) is too uninformed to be in the panel. The discussion of CHOP and I-5 was painful. She was clearly missing facts about what happened and thus could add nothing to the conversation. It’s not helpful. Sure, maybe she was still in college and not in Seattle, but these things are still all over the news. I’m shocked she didn’t have some basic knowledge.

Free Rider007What happened to this show?Week in Review used to be an informative, thoughtful look at news in Seattle by journalists who knew things. Now the show puts an emphasis on personalities who may know zip about a topic and who probably aren’t journalists. Today, the show features people who are partisans, biased perspectives, retired hacks, paid political consultants or work for the subjects they discuss. So-called “journalists” or “analysts” discuss city government even though they are employees of city government. Some are blatant or thinly disguised leftists with tiny blogs or tiny organizations with agendas who sprinkle their pronouncements with “you know” or “like.” Is this high school radio? Rarely is a commentator informed and objective. Bill Radke used to be a witty satirist who challenged his guests, but now he’s just surfing the wave of received wisdom. Listen to this show and you’ll never learn a thing or change your mind.

GreggyJutCould be goodI want this show to be better as a Seattleite for the discussion of local issues. Unfortunately the liberal guests I find are often so convinced they know “the truth” that they are unwilling to even listen and engage with the more conservative guests on key and valid points. In the most recent episode Lydia laughs out loud at the other republican guest giving their opinion. It comes across as hubristic and not very open minded. Let’s find some centrist guests that actually represent Washington’s citizens. Not everyone living here is in lock step with whatever the Seattle times writes.

PurplePikminGreat host, mixed panelRadke is a great host and brings welcome levity and humanity to current events. But the show is often an echo chamber and guests with alternate views are routinely dismissed, disproportionately challenged, or outright laughed at by their fellow panelists. Booking would do well to not invite guests back if they diminish the discourse in this way.

CharlesM420Great show for Seattleites to stay informedBut…Stop it with the photos of you for the episode image. I listen for a reason. It bums me out seeing what you look like. 4/5 stars since I often find one or two of your guests are too conservative for me and I think generally not representative of the average Seattleite.

GabeAoKGreat show getting a bit politicalThis is a weekly listen for me. I love keeping up on local Seattle politics. What I appreciated about this show is that it’s mostly reporting without (much) analysis. Recently (over the past two weeks) the guests have become much more hard left / hard right and devolved into more political debates rather than local news. Please stop. If I wanted polarized debates on national topics there are many other places I could go. There are many fewer places I can get a summary of what the Seattle city council is doing each week.

gordoe72HostsYay, Joni Balter this week!😊

mooglitzPdx vs SeaI lived in Seattle for 20 years always heard about the debate between the two cities… now I live in Portland and I have NEVER EVER heard any talk of rivalry or competition or even shade. It’s a non-topic. What does that mean? I think we all know.
-
JMS32205A great listen but some of the guests are less appealingThis is a weekly listen for me. I think Bill is an excellent host and brings great topics to the show. There are many rotating guests. Most are good. But some (Lauryn in particular) come off as living in a hipster bubble where every corporation, politician or police officer is bad.

EwillSeaPosting lateRecently they haven’t been releasing this the day it was recorded. Not sure why, but there really isn’t any point listening to a week old news show. Hope they start posting same day again.
-
Austin OwlPop the bubbleGenerally a good summary of the week’s news in Seattle. However, would benefit from greater diversity of perspectives. Too often dominated by far left progressive voices who don’t seem to recognize the bubble they are in.
-
F.R.PackwoodUnbalancedBill does a decent job being objective. The guests are progressives and far left, and they sideline moderate democrats. Not objective or balanced, but that is typical for media on both ends of the political spectrum now. Almost unlistenable now.

Boyle6Best hour of radioWeek in Review is hands down my favorite hour of radio each week. This show, its host Bill Radke, and guests have brains and heart.
-
wtuptsl❤️Week in ReviewEasy to listen to, entertaining, collegial and educational. My favorite Friday afternoon commute listen

nkfhjvffhjmvxsRoss over RadkeMore Ross Reynolds less Radke. Ross seems to be the better host. Not many shows about Seattle - serves that purpose.

slider292Boring and predictableThis used to be a podcast I looked forward to every week. It made an admirable effort to be well-rounded, even though it’s always been left-of-center. Now, it’s always the same tired, far-left group of people, most of whom are bitter, delusional, and probably suffering from mood disorders. They dutifully trot out the usual regressive-left talking points to keep their social justice cred intact, without any nuance or challenge to the show’s status quo. The show has basically become an audible version of Seattle social justice Twitter, and it now bores me to tears. What a shame...

💕brenerFor Seattle, onlyA real yawn if you don’t live in Seattle. It could be interesting if it was about the puget sound area, but it’s only about what rich Seattle folks care about. I live on Bainbrige Island and no thanks.
-
SamdogmomFox for the left?I used to love this show, back when the guests had a variety of insightful and varied opinions and news. It, like myself, has always skewed left, but the show seemed to try to give a balanced and fully formed picture of what is going on in our region. Too often now, the commentary is so far left I can predict what they are going to say even before they begin, and it is not balanced with any dissenting views. The show is great if you want to live in a very small echo chamber, I look forward to when they go back to expecting deeper thought from commentators and listeners.
-
Lucy_SnoweSeattle Echo ChamberThis used to be my favorite podcast, back when it included voices from across the political spectrum. The reporting is still good, but it’s clearly slanted to the left. Bring back more centrist and conservative perspectives!
-
N8_FitzFantastic Weekly Round UpThis podcast is a must listen for Seattleites and those Seattle-adjacent. Bill Radke is a fantastic host and his rotating panelists are also great.
-
brentnospgGreat Fun RecapBill Radke is so good at this! He knows as much as his guests on this week’s breaking topics, and he steers the ship from serious to light hearted like he was born to do it. He’s really funny too. I’ve loved him in this format since his Rewind days back in the day. The rotating guests are awesome too!
-
itoonsrevyoosAwful rotating guestsThe core hosts are solid, but that just makes it worse when they bring on such abysmal guests as Brandi Kruse and others and do nothing to temper their brain dead commentary.
-
SGurtGreat show.Bill Radke is an excellent host.Very informative. Great host! I listen every week.
-
rtclmhGood, but something's missingI would give this show 5 stars until last year, when they shifted their panel from an eclectic mix of current and former politicians and journalists, to just journalists. While it continues to be well moderated--Bill Radke is a natural--and the journalist guests are competent, experienced, and knowledgable, it lacks the richness and 360 perspective that happened when local political leaders and journalists all sparred together.
-
bartolomundoGreat Show! This is the best locally produced show on KUOW by far. Good range of guests and coverage of topics of interest to those in the Seattle area. Keep up the good work!
-
DebbynwAbsolutely Required Listening for SeattleInsightful, amusing and inclusive of varied viewpoints. Guaranteed you will learn something important from Bill Radke and the rotating panel of smart, we’ll-informed journalists and politicians. I NEVER miss this show.
-
JDelageInformative but very biasedThe guests reflects the Seattle demographics, which means they go from very much left to squishy right-of-center. If you keep an active mind you can still get a lot of good info from the show. I wish they had Joni Balter more often; she's the best of the crew, IMHO.

Janejane0Élection discussion... not clear enoughI wish your discussion about election results and what passed and what did not and the results of state house was more clear. I still don’t know if Dems have majority in Wa state or not. I have to go to Ny Times election results to find specifics. No I don’t watch tv either so radio is my main news... also if Wa needs a way for a carbon tax, the simple answer is explained by Robert Reich, just go to his YouTube explanation... quite simple really.

bdaly10Very well moderatedI really, really respect and appreciate the way Bill Radke moderates this snow. There is fairness, compassion, humor, good questions, and occasionally pushing a bit on guests to not let them off the hook. I’ve heard only one bad episode, and that’s when a guest was on who didn’t seem game to follow the ‘disagree without being angry and attacking’ vibe of the show. To my knowledge that guest has not been back since. Chris Vance and Rob McKenna do a great job of intelligently representing what is sometimes the under-heard point of view in Seattle.
-
KaleighmcEnjoyable and InformativeI always know Bill and his guests will pick apart the weeks most important news in a way that highlights multiple perspectives while still keeping it light.
-
ghs77Balanced take on Seattle news from varied opinionsWhen Chris Vance, Joni Balter, and Erica “Crank” Barnett are on Bill’s show the soft Right, Center, and far Left (this is public radio afterall) all have a chance to voice their opinions on head taxes, bike lanes, the homeless, and many other issues that make up Seattle politics. Balter always brings a voice of reason.
-
Seattle DogBalanced and InformativeBill does a great job teeing up interesting and relative topics. I very much appreciate the diverse views of the panelists he secures - as a listener it helps me dorm my own opinion which tends to be somewhere in between 🙂

TEDfan222/2/18 podcastGive room to Joni Balter. I’ve enjoyed her journalistic no-nonsense expertise for years. But I unsubscribed after the shrill ranting Savage brought to the show 2/2/18 and the subsequent war between Chris and him. Chris is usually more point-counter-point but you hear his struggle with the baiting. Listen to it again: how many times did she attempt to speak but was drowned out, even by the host? 20+ in 10 minutes? As a listener, that this was a dumb, out of control mess to listen to. I’ve been on the fence on the show for a while but sometimes it’s useful for local commentary. But I can find shouting matches between people who talk past each other armed w lists of contextual facts anywhere. What I want is respectful debate from various points of view. I think Bill usually tries to make that happen so I might check back depending on the make-up and if that nonsense isn’t tolerated.
