Like the guests - but need to add …
Great guests but Polina responds the same to every question. “Wow” “That’s cool” “that’s interesting » .. I stopped listening but wanted to hear Chock and Bates .. who were eloquent

    The knowledge!
I admire your skating knowledge! Your detailed critiques of the skater's performances are appreciated. I love the interviews of the skaters!

    We need more!
So many great interviews and topics. Keep the episodes coming! I love this podcast. You mentioned Rudy Galindo was your choreographer. Please get him on for an interview!!!

    Dangerous
The skating interviews are generally good, her assessments of other skaters self-serving, but her latest episode discussing birth control/female hormones with a naturopath “doctor” was dangerous and full of unverified information. Why not have a real physician or nurse practitioner that actually treat patients? As usual - self serving

    Great podcast
Polina keeps it 100. As just a casual fan of skating I can’t tell when technique is good or bad, so i love hearing her break it all down, the good, bad and the ugly. The only figure skating podcast i listen to.

    Love it
You wouldn’t expect a figure skating podcast to elicit real insights and self reflection from the interviews but somehow Polina manages to do it. A young figure skating Terri Gross. Congrats Polina I think you have a bright future in radio, even beyond figure skating.

    Love hearing from your guests
Please, please continue throughout the year. We fans want to learn , hear from those who have been and are in the skating world, its history, future and currently involved year round. There are so many aspects about figure skating and you bring out these topics with your guests!!! Fell in love with figure skating when my Dad took me to the Ice Capades in 1954! Mom and I would stay glued to the tv to catch the little coverage with Jim McKay on Wide World of Sports . Coverage was sparse. Sad to see tv coverage has gone back to those times. Keep your interviews going! My ear was glued to my phone to hear Frank Carroll and his insights!!! Audrey Thank you again!

    I’m learning so much
I am in my 50’s and brand new to figure skating, which I picked up for exercise and enjoyment. So glad I found this podcast that is teaching me so much about the sport including the elite and Olympic levels of skating. Informative, helpful, and entertaining.

    Thinks she knows it all..
Good insights but comes off as a know it all. No right to be so judgy on todays top skaters. She was never that great.

    Informative and Well Explained
Your latest episode is the best analysis I’ve heard regarding the Olympic doping scandal. I think something that has been missing in the coverage this past week is how much or little autonomy a teenage Russian figure skater likely has. Your description of the differences in training/coaching systems in the US vs. Russia was very informative and touched on this. I also found helpful your outline of a child’s development while training difficult jumps and how the medicines involved might affect such training. Eesldmour background as a teenage Olympian and someone whose mom grew up skating under a different system, you bring so much insight to this situation. I look forward to listening to your other episodes.

    Excellent show!
Am a physician in SF; just listened to most recent show. Getting to better understand and appreciate what skaters go through. Excellent podcast!

    The Russians!
I’ve always found Scherbakova unwatchable. Now I understand why, thanks to Polina’s analysis. She captures what I’ve been unable to articulate. Polina doesn’t pull any punches, and I love that!

    Kudos to you!
Polina, your are addressing issues that every skater, coach, and family need to be aware of.As a previous skater, coach, and now judge, I feel these topics you discuss have traditionally been ignored. Your generation are the ones to bring all topics you discuss in your podcast to the forefront. You discuss important issues aside from just interviewing skaters. Thank you for bringing these topics to light and I hope more people tune in!

    So much respect for Polina
I love hearing what you have to say and your perspective on things. Love the interviews with skaters!! Would like to see you highlight some different disciplines of skating (collegiate, adult, synchro). Very positive contribution to the skating community!

    Debi Thomas
Debi Thomas was so interesting and I loved her raw honesty . I wish her much success in endeavoring to change our community into an embracing culture of positivity. The human being has so much potential, most of it going to waste with people conforming to norms and refusing to learn. I taught myself to crochet, quilt fix my car and win running races. You tube videos are out there to help us as well as books on any subject. You can become a millionaire through learning and hard work. She is a fantastic teacher of articulating potential and kids need to especially hear her wise words. Her nonconformity is refreshing She is a gem!

    Love Polina!!
I love hearing a figure skating podcast from a recently competitive skater who knows all the ins and outs of the skating world. She’s an Olympian who deserves respect for her own accomplishments but also has insight to hard work, injuries, failure, and all the other hardships that athletes face. Her authentic, professional but still fresh Millennial/Gen Z vibe makes this podcast interesting and engaging for our generation!

    Debi Thomas
Wow, that was really hard to listen to. I had heard she had kind of gone off the “deep end”, but that was next level. She couldn’t even stay on topic for more than a minute before she went off on tangents. She literally went from talking about the 88 Olympics & Katarina Witt to conspiracy theories in 10 seconds! It’s really sad. Ironic that she spent some time talking about mental health as it really sounds like she has her own issues going on. I hope she gets some help. What a waste of talent and brains.

Wish it was more of a conversation
I enjoy hearing a new figure skating podcast with a range of competitors. I wish Polina would try to make the episodes more conversational. There are multiple instances where I felt she shouldn’t have just transitioned to a new question. For instance, I finished the Michael Weiss ep and he discussed good and bad crowds during SOI COI tours, and she just rushed past it to the next question. For just getting started, it’s not bad and I look forward to new episodes.

    More Brian!
I really enjoyed the Brian Boitano episode. He is very insightful and interesting. It would be great to have him back again!

Great insight into the skating world!
I’ve been following the skating world for a long time and used to skate myself for many years, and I love the interviews Polina does and the guests she brings in. This podcast gives really great insight into the skating world, which is especially nice when COVID has changed everything for us, including the skating season. Keep up the great work!

Different Point of view, but too self centered
Polina's interviews and talks provide a insider look to the sport of skating. However, I feel this podcast would be better named "The Polina Show". Polina is unable to conduct an interview without her own biases getting in the way. When interviewing others she always has to throw in her 2 cents or experiences. If Polina, could remove her biases from this it would be a very informative behind the scenes look at skating.

    Interesting & enjoyable
I’ve been in involved in figure skating for over 40 years as both a skater & coach. I have enjoyed polina’s podcasts . I like hearing the inner workings of her skating career & background information. I hope she continues with interviews of skaters & people in the skating world. I would like to actually hear longer podcasts . They’re very few figure skating podcasts so I would like to encourage Polina to continue.
  • Emojita
    Honest and engaging
I enjoyed every single episode. I appreciate that Polina is so forthcoming about her personal experiences. I also think this makes her an engaging and effective interviewer. From what I’ve heard, she has a way of asking questions that elicit genuine responses.

    Enjoyable and informative opinions
I love hearing Polinas point of view in figure skating from when she was competing as a teenager, and now as an adult reflecting back in her younger years. I’m not sure what the negative reviews are trying to point out but the point of these podcast, from my perspective, is her views and concerns for the younger, up and coming skaters. As a former skater myself, I love getting the perspective from elite former skaters.

    A tale of perseverance
Don’t go into this podcast series expecting stories of rags to riches or no name to gold medalist. That’s not what this is. This is a story about dedication and perseverance. It’s a story about the hard work a child can put in to become great at something. I’m also smart enough to not review Polina as arrogant because she talks like a California girl. All things considered, Polina showed me how someone so young on such a high profile stage was willing to stand up for herself, defend her own point of view, and perform on a professional level with the best in the world. Polina is a model of what you can hope for today in your child. She’s an inspiration and she is a historically important part of the figure skating world. Enjoy the podcast!

    Yikes
Polina comes across as incredibly arrogant, privileged, and delusional in this podcast. The narrative she is trying to weave is mind boggling.

Only a podcast from Pat Lipinski (Tara’s skating momma) would be less painful to listen to.
First off, Polina was never my cup of skating tea. Listening to all of these episodes finalized my irkness I have for her Her imaginary greatness in the sport is such a privilege for her, I guess. Now don’t get me wrong she was very meh in the sport.( And it’s my opinion she shouldn’t have been on the Olympic team and don’t get me started why the USFS made a huge mistake in not having and Gracie, Ashley and Mirai team) With all due respect she was never on the Russians level. Literally Polina was skating to Tinkerbell and Cherries Cha cha when everyone else was skating to schindler list. And when she claims she had the hardest program content Polina was leaving out her UR and therefore cheated jumps. Her attitude is “Mama Lipinski”level, meaning “poor me omg I’m the best, it’s rigged “ grow up leave your privilege where your skating skills lacked you on the ice. This was your time to shine, make the podcast about body image and mental issues more than what you expected to be treated. Talk about the #metoo issues, anything but how you were the best(you weren’t) and the whole USFS denied your mediocre skating. Sadly I find your podcast very disheartening. Your false self entitlement is appalling. Do better.
