    This podcast changed my life.
This podcast has really put words to my experiences, inner struggles, and the many questions I had about, what they call, the pietism gospel. I am finally finding rest in Christ! Thank you!

Sweet rest is found in the cross!
I appreciate Jon & Justin’s pastoral care in helping hurting souls. They have helped me understand the distinction between the Law & the Gospel & how they relate to one another. It is a comforting truth knowing that obedience comes from knowing that we cannot out sin the love or the grace of God! God has set His love on His sheep m, and He will not leave them nor forsake them! Theocast has helped me, it has helped my wife, and it has helped our marriage. Keep up the good work brothers.

Perfect Podcast for simplifying the gospel
You both have helped me so much in my walk with the Lord. I became a new believer 4 years ago and somehow fell into pietism! Unfortunately those teachings run deep as I still struggle even after finding your podcast and listening to you both break it all down! I do have a better understanding on the simplicity of the gospel and Gods love, grace and mercy, but I still seem to struggle at times looking inward to see if I’m really doing enough and doubting if I’m actually saved. I just want to rest in Christ without carrying such a heavy burden but I can’t seem to break free! I look forward to hearing from you weekly as it is helping bring clarity to my daily struggles! Thank you for showing up every week and keeping it simple! God Bless you both!

    Getting a Grip
I do view theology much like a handle on a suitcase. A person’s view or filter of God has to (practically speaking) have a handle, a way to tote it around and express it to others. I commend Moffit and Perdue on their thoughtful approach. As you listen, don’t read into their presentation things that aren’t there; they want what right-thinking Christians have always wanted: a closer relationship to Jesus and to others who seek to abide in Him during this often weary journey.

    Balanced
A friend of mine recommended theocast during a season I didn’t really want to hear what they were saying. However I needed the balance between living in grace, and pietism.

    Always what I need
Jon and Justin have been a breath of fresh air that the Lord has used to strengthen my faith and deepen my assurance of the gospel. Every episode leaves with a take-away that’s relevant to me and the church I shepherd. And several episodes I return to on a regular basis for encouragement and help. I’m grateful for these men.

    Rest in Christ

    So thankful for this podcast
Idk where to start or what to even say. I am so glad God led me to this podcast. Since being saved I’ve been in evangelicalism, I had always felt that what I was being taught didn’t fully align with the Bible, but I thought that the preachers I listened to had to know better than me. I just had to work harder and do better, if I didn’t then I wasn’t really saved. I was always questioning others salvation as well as my own. Everyday I felt like a failure and thought “I should just quit Christianity”, But I couldn’t walk away from Jesus. After finding this podcast I believe I have finally found truth. They have answer every question I have had, brought light to all my doubts and have said the exact things that I have thought. I don’t want to listen to anyone else.

    Defending the Gospel of Grace
These guys are Reformed Calvinists. I am neither. I am a Dispensational Biblicist. That being said, these guys do a terrific job defending the biblical gospel of grace. Their teaching is full of grace and truth, with insightful and helpful exposition of the Bible for justification and sanctification. Well done.

Pietism episode = what I’ve been looking for
I’ve been trying to find resources to help me draw law / gospel distinction for about three years. Bill Gothard’s influences were strong in my growing up years and it has been hard to distinguish upright, obedient living from legalism. You guys put words to my confusion. I will be binging many other of your episodes I am sure. Thank you so much.

    Law-Gospel Distinction!
I came out of a dispensational, Arminian environment where distinguishing between Law and Gospel was fuzzy at best. I so appreciate this doctrinally-rich and Christ-centered podcast. It’s a balm to weary souls! Thanks Theocast guys!

    Brought back to the Gospel
These guys are amazing! Preaching the Gospel that I fell in love with when I was first saved! Praise God for these guys!

    Truth Proclaimed
The clear Biblical teaching of these men enriches my walk in Christ. In a deluded and deceived world, we cannot hear enough of the grace of our loving Lord! Thank you for giving yourselves to this work! The Gospel will never lose it’s power!

    Life changing!
Theocast has been such a blessing to me since discovering it about a month ago. I have been able to understand much more clearly what the gospel is, the law’s purpose for the Christian, and how the truth of the gospel is unbelievably practical in everyday life. I can’t thank Jon, Justin, and everyone else involved enough!

    Antinomians
My friend keeps sending me these guys to try to convince me they are orthodox, but the more I listen the more I become convinced that these guys don’t have a positive view of the Christian life as set forth in the Scripture.

    Thankful for this podcast
This podcast has been everything I’ve been thinking in my head but couldn’t put into words. I just found out about it a few weeks ago and have binged listened to a lot of your episodes. I’m so thankful for this podcast. It’s helped me understand the gospel and what it actually means to be saved. I don’t have to look at myself to see whether I’m saved or not. It’s looking to Christ!!!! Thank you, Lord!!!!

    Superb!
Absolutely appreciate the detail and thoughtfulness these men of God put into each episode. One of my fave podcasts!

Take a drink every time someone says right!
Whooo, Buddy. Your amazing arguments are weakened every time you use the word right. Be confident in what you’re saying and not look for approval from the people you’re speaking to. Find another filler word, please.

    Unable to read the Bible
1 Timothy 3:12 was not brought up as qualifications for deacon, blatant omission. Part of the reason our churches are becoming progressive.

    Such great content
Spoken with love, washed in the truth of the gospel!

    Great Definitions
Enjoyed the podcast! I am reminded of some great definitions I picked up somewhere a long time ago (wish I knew the source to give credit): “Grace is getting something good that you don’t deserve; Mercy is not getting something bad that you do deserve.”

    God’s Grace for Believers
That’s the emphasis of this podcast. Get off the hamster wheel; trust Christ & calm down. Thanks, brothers, for being a part of a whole new level of God’s sanctifying work in me.

    Forever grateful for your honesty
These guys are the real deal. Their honest hearts and love for our savior are evident in their conversation. I appreciate the theology explanations that help to prepare the Christan for their battles of this life. Thank you guys!

    Frustrating to listen to
I listened to a few podcasts (enjoying the content) but became frustrated with the hosts speaking over each other or interrupting each other.

    Highly recommend!
This podcast has been such an encouragement to me on my journey. Specifically, the episodes that explain law and grace distinction, were transformational for me. There’s also a pastoral heart in their teaching that comforts the weary sinner. I’m so grateful to have found this podcast!! Thank you guys!!

    Comforting and Rich
I’ve just started listening after recommendation from my best friend and I’m so glad I did! I come from podcasts such as Assurance of Pardon and Distilling Theology which are excellent for a layman preparing for a life of ministry like myself but the content here on Theocast is simultaneously comforting and convicting. I am comforted by the reminder of grace and convicted by what I have tried to mold grace into so as to please God when God is pleased in Himself to impose His own righteousness upon His people. There’s is no topic apart from Christ yet every episode approaches in a different and thought provoking way. Just listening has caused me to Google words I don’t know, read passages of scripture I’ve never read, and has just improved my ability to keep up when it comes to theological discussions. The cliché “You guys don’t pull any punches” does not apply here, you make it very clear that, as scripture tells us, Christ holds His bride firmly and will lose none. Keep it up! Glory to God!

Weary Christian, be refreshed by Christ
Bless this podcast! Law/Gospel distinction is a glorious, beautiful doctrine which all Christians can find delight in understanding, for otherwise we flounder in futility and cannot hold fast to our faith in Christ’s work for us. God has inestimably blessed this podcast to me for my comfort, peace, and trust towards Him. He is slowly removing my suspicion and fear. Trust the good news that Christ has fulfilled the ENTIRE Law *for you*, dear Christian!

    A Christ exalting show
Theocast doesn't waste your time trying to discern weather or not some insignificant doctrine is rightly understood. Instead they are always trying to help people understand what god has given us in Christ. It has been life altering for my wife and I.
  • Rachel3524
    Thank you!
I’ve struggled for years not understanding what is the problem with so many churches I’ve attended/joined. You explain it perfectly. I’m learning all I can and will continue to ask God to teach, guide, change & grow me!

    What a blessing!
This podcast has been such an encouragement to me in my walk with Christ. Thankful for these faithful men who deliver complex topics in a digestible, engaging manner.

    Grace and Peace
Praise God for messengers of grace. What an encouragement to listen to daily. Salvation is of God, and not we ourselves. And His grace is sufficient!

    Life Changing
I, like most Christians, have struggled my entire Christian life with legalism, pietism, lack of assurance, and a collapsing of the law and gospel. Listening to these pastors over the last 2 years has changed the way I see and understand Jesus, the way I talk about Jesus, the way I read the Bible and so much more. They have truly cleared the fog from the meaning and purpose of the Church, and the work of Jesus on our behalf. Trust Christ, and calm down. I love you guys.

    A podcast for all people
This podcast has helped in more ways than I’m probably aware; I’m a young man who was raised Christian, yet wanting more of Christ and wanting to combat a nominal Christian life, I’ve unwittingly become hyper-introspective (pietistic). These pastors have greatly helped shepherd me to rest in the sufficiency of the Lord Jesus, and enjoy Him more. Also, as an aspiring pastor, it’s been beneficial to hear their focus on Christ and the Scriptures.
  • D. K. Potter
    Grateful…
As a believer who has been under pietistic preaching since day one of my ten years following Christ, the Theocast podcast has been refreshment for my spirit, revelation to the eyes of my heart, relief from the burdens of a morbidly introspective, self-centered faith and rest for my weary soul. So grateful for this resource and the encouragement it provides!

    Blessed Assurance!
I’ve struggled with assurance my entire Christian life. Raised with moralism always at the core of the Gospel, this podcast (second to recently joining a Reformed Baptist Church and sitting under godly, biblical elders) has helped me break free from the man-made chains holding me back from fully trusting God’s promises and Christ’s sacrifice. I’m still learning to rest in grace my Father has so lovingly extended to me, but the Gospel has never tasted sweeter. Thank you, Theocast!

This podcast is truly amazing!! Bless these Brothers!

    I cannot thank you enough!
Prior to listening, I struggled with feeling the pressure of being a “legit” Christian and based my assurance on my own obedience and performance. Once I started studying more about reformed theology, things started becoming more clear, but I was still very naive in my understanding of its complexity. I’m so grateful to God for faithful men that take the time to peel back the layers of theology, one biblical truth at a time. In the case for me: the concept of Sola Fide. Insert Theocast. I have a newfound love for Christ that I hadn’t felt since I first received His free gift of grace through faith in Him. Words cannot measure how thankful I am that this self-inflicted burden has been lifted, and I now find my rest solely in Him alone. His truth truly does set us free!

    Biblical and Shaping
This podcast is incredibly easy-listening. I appreciate the high-view of Scripture the hosts exhibit in their conversations, but also appreciate how they don’t take themselves too seriously - they joke and have fun on the show. The topics have been thought provoking and shaping for me. A lot of reformed podcasts I have listened to are dry and stale, but this is fresh and full of energy with that solid biblical content.

    Look to Christ
This podcast constantly encourages weary Christians to look to Christ for hope and assurance, not to themselves. What a timely word for believers today!
  • robinhoodsucks1335)64
Overemphasis of one side of the coin
They seem to claim to hold the keys to the Christian life which is to rest in Christ, but they dampen the responsibility of the believer to work out what God provides the grace to do. Over listening to this podcast would result in a partial view of the Christian life. I say this having listened to about 20 of the latest podcasts.

    Encouraging and Pastoral
I started listening to Justin and Jon recently, and I’ve really been encouraged by their biblical teaching and pastoral exhortations. Instead of the heady intellectual topics, they take every day topics and apply confessionally Reformed doctrine. Would highly recommend to a weary Christian who is new to the Reformed Faith seeking rest in Christ alone.

A Good Encouraging Engaging Robust Listen
This podcast wants to equip the church to be the church with a solid theological foundation. This is a weakness within the contemporary church and these guys are seeking to address the issue as real shepherds should be doing. The topics chosen and pastoral tone makes this a valuable use of time. A hearty yes to anyone who asks if they should listen.
