I binged through this - thought provoking and entertaining.

Actually, I could listen to Stephen Fry talk about anything! I think he should take the latest edition of The World Book Encyclopedia, start with volume “A” and keep going! 😀

As a long devotee of Stephen Fry I had to give this a try, so glad I did. Each episode is exquisitely researched, presented, and of course, narrated. I would listen to Stephen Fry read the back of a paint can honestly... All that aside this is a rich and fun podcast, timely and also timeless. Please never stop podcasting Stephen! 😍

This was just fantastic. I leave Stephen’s mind so much. This was perfect.

Basically since the day I graduated University, I’ve hungered for more learning, feeling like I can’t ever learn enough or have my curiosity satisfied. Alas, many of my history teachers were about as exciting as broken wheelbarrows at the bottom of a dung heap! *Enter: Stephen Fry!!!* I have simply devoured (for lack of a hearing word equivalent?) these episodes! I love the presentation, the quality, the thoroughness, the wit, the relevancy, everything! I’m sat here begging for there to be another series to come!!Please!! Do ALL the histories, (anything really) but please keep producing these gorgeous lessons!! And a thank you for these! 💜

I wish Steven would have a daily podcast with a variety of people. He’s awesome. Beautifully produced and mixed as well.

This podcast is just the thing for a Quarantine. Stephen Fry examines himself by reevaluating what the seven deadly "sins" mean, and put them into relatable context so you can do the same. Rather than feeling judged by these religious concepts (isn't that how it always goes?), I feel comforted by the unique ways I overcome these human vices. Thank you, Stephen!!

Whatever you do, Stephen and Co, keep them coming!

Both seasons are interesting, entertaining and dare I say - educational in the best sense of the word.

I Love Stephen, this podcast is very good. My stomach is soothed just by listening. Each episode feels like being snuggled up on a waterbed. Which is a great, because I’ve always loved Stephen’s sense of humor and wished he would start a podcast.

Wonderfully written and presented. Insightful, provoking and simply brilliant. One of the best things I’ve encountered in a very long time - decadent, dare I say, sinfully delicious!

First of all- Stephen Fry is always aces!!! But disappointed that the podcast has advertised 7 Deadly Sins , 1 was talked about - and from then on it has veered to a completely different topic. Stephen, what happened?

Kind of hard to follow. Excessively florid and digressive. Could really use a tougher editor.

My very high expectations for this podcast have been exceeded! The sound is great and that delicious voice sounds as beautiful and playful as an episode of QI. I believe this podcast invites all of us to look to ourselves in a humorous and serious way using the seven deadly sins as the central theme. Like Mr. fry, I’m an atheist but have found the idea of the seven deadly sins to be a useful concept, probably because they seem to be based on observations of human psychology rather than dogma. I recommend this to any contemplative person with a sense of humor.

As Always, insightful, intuitive, refreshing, logical. Looking forward to the first of the 7 deadly sins podcast .

Why has this podcast come to an end? It Was one of the best things to come to the world of podcasts and yet there have been no new episodes for months. Mr Fry, if you read these reviews, please consider recording a new season of great leap years

I have never heard (or read) such a creatively organized, beautifully described retelling of historical events. Furthermore I cannot imagine any human being could do a better job at narrating this than was done by Stephen Fry. I am in awe.

Stephen Fry is the greatest narrator, from books to podcasts his ability to bring to life the narrative is incredible. This is a fantastic podcast I couldn’t get enough. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment Truly brilliant!!

Stephen Fry has a fantastic voice and is so interesting and engaging. He can bring anything to life. That being said, this podcast is just fantastic. He weaves complex tales about history that make it come alive. And you feel like he's talking to you over tea and biscuits, which is also wonderful. I love history, so I knew about some of the subject matter, but he put meat on the bones and made it so much more interesting. There was a tv show on long ago called Connections with James Burke which was very good. This podcast reminded me of it. But Stephen Fry is so special and interesting. :)

First off, it’s Stephen Fry. That’s 5 stars in and of itself! The stories are truly captivating and Stephen does a marvelous job of taking the listener through a collection of enthralling stories. Very highly recommended!

So happy when a friend put me on to this podcast, Stephen Fry makes me proud to be British which is truly astounding considering the state of the UK today. His command of the vocabulary is remarkable, reminding me of a more gentle Christopher Hitchens (RIP), and he is immensly erudite. I've waited a long time for Stephen to release a new podcast, it was worth the wait.

Stephen has chosen to focus on the history of information technology breakthroughs. It's a great idea that differentiates this show from all the other historical or technology podcasts. Of course, he is witty, charming and erudite. The science is accurate but not intimidating. If you like Stephen Fry, history or technology, then you will like this podcast.

Well, done! Never boring, always informative, and relevant — the way good history is supposed to be.

The trailer is provocative and filled me with anticipation for the twists and insights Stephen Fry brings to us. Have now listened to the first four episodes and I'm even more impressed with this podcast as he moves forward in time. Fry's tells us much more than we previously knew, but not too much. His application is what I think of as an etymological approach to history... he decodes not only words, but enough relevant historical detail beyond just the words to make his topics sing. I have a personal connection to the topics discussed in the fourth episode, as my grandfather and father were both proud to be electrical engineers working for "Ma Bell" in the Boston area. Grampy helped to plan the Boston Trunk system and later on Dad as a long range planning engineer worked on voice recognition science. They were both Telephone Pioneers of America, Grampy attending the organization's first meeting in Boston in 1911. So the details in this podcast resonated with my memories. How I wish they were both alive to hear Stephen's words.

I’ll listen to any podcast or audiobook by Stephen Fry

I have tried to listen to a few podcast that teach the listener about various topics and almost all have disappointed me. For me it’s when the speaker tries to make jokes that, in my mind, don’t even come close to hitting their mark. However that is not the case for Stephen Fry’s Great Leap Years. I haven’t even finished the first episode and I am already in love with this podcast. He is able to marry facts with humor in perfect harmony. I will definitely make sure to tell my friends and family about this podcast. This is an easy one to suggest.
