Fibre BummedIt was Camp FunstonI was looking for a new history podcast so tried the episode on Spanish Flu. You lost me when you generalized to Ft. Riley, when it was Camp Funston. Camp Funston is part of the Ft. Riley Complex now but was 5miles east of the post when it was established and possibly (probably) played a role in the proliferation of Spanish Flu.

Rose FuryWonderful StorytellingAfter reading other’s reviews I have to say my take on this is different. Though I enjoy the historical research and attention to detail, I mainly listen to this for the storytelling. I like the music and presentation. I get transported to another time and place. I got chills when he describes things like when the Vikings were navigating their boat’s between the icebergs. It’s exactly what I need to forget the days stress. The rich history is icing on the cake for me.

PeetapixEverything is great, except…….the constant interruption with musical embellishment - in the foreground, in the background - it’s more relentless than the history you’re trying to evoke. You don’t have to appeal to people who hate silence. They won’t listen to your podcast anyway. Stick to appealing to people who want to hear about history and don’t care for car commercial-type layouts to wrap around the information you - otherwise brilliantly - present.
-
pataphysicianThe past is with usWell researched and, of equal worth, a well-considered presentation. A great supplement to reading and, for those who may not have the time and space to read, a valuable introduction to the material. The music is unnecessary.

Gobkscan't get past the cheesy musicSorry, really interested in this stuff, but the presentation is sophomoric.

Desert Dog Sr.Might be the best out there, but what happened?I’m a history junkie and am obsessed with podcasts, so when I found this one, I burned through it quickly. Sadly, he stopped making them right when I discovered it, so I’m all out now. What happened? This guy had the knowledge and talent to become dominant in the field. I hope he gets back to it.
-
PrivateeribleGet rid of the musicGreat content, but I had to turn it off because the background music was so irritating
-

Bill OB2Favorite podcastThis might sound a bit odd, but History Time is the most relaxing podcast I’ve listened too. Interesting topics; great musical choices; and a narrative style second to none.
-
Wesleyy43HmmmLet me say it is a great podcast but this guy a few months back said he’d give a free book to the first 3 people to leave him a good review and I was one of those people and I gave him my address so he could send the book and now here 3 months later I still have not received the book and I even tried contacting him on IG but got no response, with that being said though it’s a great podcast and I never really cared about the book the only problem I have is lying to get good reviews, especially when there’s no need to lie because it already is a great podcast.

ابو نوح خليلFollower from YouTube.I’ll cut to the chase what I like most about your podcast is that you pull DIRECTLY from the primary sources, additionally the primary sources are very obscure which impressed me, one such one were Ibn Rusta and an other Arabic primary source. the degree to which you remain neutral in your depictions are incredible as well. Thanks for the content
-
Informed_amateurAwesome show, very detailed!Have enjoyed the YouTube channel and the podcast, very detailed and well-researched.

Stephen chuteThis is a terrific podcastI first found the voices from the past Youtube channel from the suggested stuff and after listening to all those is switched to the podcasts. It’s great when playing CK2 or EU4.
-
arivera10Incredibly interesting and rather remarkable. This is a wonderful series I first discovered via YouTube and, personally, I’ve been binge watching/listening for two weeks now! He presents well-balanced reviews of various historical periods, which you can put in requests for by the way, based on his readings of a vast amount of literary encompassing primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. It’s quite remarkable and incredibly interesting. It’s actually the podcast/video series I’ve been hoping to find for a while now. If you enjoy history, you need to listen to this or go over to his YouTube channel and check out his other content! Enjoy!
-

WI AppraiserA Delightful History Podcast! This podcast presents a wide array of topics in a very engaging way! The host is passionate and a very gifted storyteller. This history podcast is truly one of the best, and I highly recommend you take a listen!
-
RaymondJasperAn excellent short form history podcastHistory time is an excellent quick bite of history, perfect for commutes and errands. Really liking the continuity with the recent multi-episode feature on the crusader state of Antioch! The wide variety of times and places covered mean this podcast does a great job of filling in the gaps that are often left behind in large, single-topic history podcasts.
-
唐思德An excellent addition to the lineup of History PodcastsAnother new one that came out in 2018. Quite enjoyable after eighteen episodes....learned a ton about Northern Europe so far! Recommended!
-
Siln SFA passionate storytellerHistory Time is a excellent podcast that combines a compelling narrative and a podcaster who is obviously passionate about his subject. His spell binding voice covers a wealth of topics and makes one entranced with the time periods that are covered.
-
HistoryDude1492An Incredible Show!Pete Kelly's History Time, is a watershed in history podcasting. Never before has history been presented with such passion and eloquence! I highly recommend you give this podcast a listen, as it is well worth your time!
-
Snow White, not Aurora, NowA Deep DiveThis speaker does “deep dives” into times & places which are rarely explored in a way accessible to the history-lover. I like it very much.
-
HambbinoAlways an interesting listen that is enjoyable fully engaged or while multitasking.I was brought here by the excellent YouTube channel of the very same name “History Time” and I’m glad I stayed. We often assume that the time after the fall of the Roman Empire and the conquest of 1066 that the British Isles were isolated and living in the aftermath of some singular conquest by invading Germanic tribes. History time does a great job of covering one of the most fantastic periods in British and consequently Scandinavian history. I look forward to the content in the works and would especially like to see more works on Ireland, Scotland, and the Islamic World and its many Turkic rulers from the Ghaznivids to the Mughals.
-
