1MeanBoneGreat guests but . . .Metaxas tends to be “wordy,” taking up valuable time that could be better used letting his guest speak. Sometimes he talks over his guest to get his own opinion out there when I’d rather hear what his guest has to say. Nevertheless, a podcast worth one’s time.

MAEarnestLearning to ask the right questionsI found Socrates in the City by searching for talks given by Micheal Ward and was pleasantly surprised by finding this treasure! Madeleine L’Engle wrote, “Generally what is more important than getting watertight answers is learning the ask the right questions.” Socrates has helped me to expand my mind by asking those questions without the pressure of always finding the right answers. Thank you to Erik to providing this platform for others to learn to ask those questions.

dn.carloGreat on Every LevelMetaxas is a superb host to his guests and to his audience. The opinions expressed on these shows are serious, substantial, thought provoking, and (thank God) often humorous. A marvelous blend that makes for marvelous shows.

Dan1384839292727Love it.These are great conversations about life issues that challenge thinking. They do not coerce but rather teach in a way that allows a person to either accept the message or not.

Slim twin #2Be quiet Metaxas! If Metaxas would just get out of his own way then this podcast would be 5 a starer but he can’t seem to help himself. Let your guests talk!

jidimoEric Makes Life Worthwhile!!Eric makes life worthwhile!! He brings his own personal version of fun and joy to this boring “politically correct” world. I thank God Metaxas is here to brighten my days in the city of heartless San Francisco.

Royal in trainingIncredible guests, irritating interruptionsWonderful show that brings relevant and intriguing contemporary Christian thinkers together for topical discussions. The greatest strength of the show is the showcase of amazing Christians it presents to our modern world. In a western world that is increasingly skeptical and smug towards the Christian worldview it is great to have this window into intellectual and biblical Christianity. Thanks to Eric and Co. for creating a platform for these men. That being said, I appreciate that Mr. Metaxas is aiming to move the topic along in the dialogue forums but it is cringeworthy the amount of times he interrupts the guests. I wish he would let these men talk and not bowl them over trying to tell them what they are trying to say. Bottom line: episodes where a guest has the floor to present as they see fit, 5 stars. Episodes where Mr. Metaxas is constantly kicking in the metaphorical conversational door with interruptions, 1 star...

qwerttqwertqwertqwertttttttttI wish he would listen to his own guests...Frustrated sometimes by EM’s constant desire to insert quips and irrelevant irony. Just listen to the guests so that we can too?

JopetreCan’t stop talkingHonestly, I talk so much about Eric’s podcasts ( both radio and SOC) that I’m probably driving people crazy. He has the most interesting guests with compelling stories. These people are from so many different walks of life. I particularly like when Eric is asking them questions (like his radio programs). Many of these stories reflect the grace and love of Jesus Christ. I love to share highlights with others. Jesus changes lives. Thank you, Eric!

Fortunate StudentRationality in NYC?!It’s hard to imagine that such wisdom is being promoted in NYC of all places. I commend Eric for what he’s doing, and hope to join the next event that is held in the Big Apple. Also, his openings are hilarious!

Hunter bendsI love all things Eric MetaxasIn a random gift of a book called 7 men without equal on their times by Charles Stetson I was introduced to the life of William Wilberforce. Stunned that I had never heard of him, that led me to the reading of my first Eric Metaxas book, Amazing Grace. Let's just say the rest is history. I seen him speak twice publicly. I read his books as soon as they are published and I delight in the Socrates in the City events which I once had to purchase via CD/book format. Thank you for your podcast, radio show and for enlightening this Christian. I am deeply grateful. I love saying "I don't need to know all that they know. I just need to know that they know". So true so true. Thank you.
