My favorite podcast I miss it!

I found this a podcast a couple years ago while working at a grooming salon. I’ve always had an interest in the funeral business and in March I quit my job, started working at a funeral home and now waiting to start my second semester of mortuary school. While the stories aren’t being posted regularly they are very enjoyable and gives people a detailed insight of the funeral business.

Only reason I’m giving it a four star is because he’s very inconsistent when posting. He gives a day he will post something then doesn’t follow through without an explanation until months later, if we are lucky.

These are the best stories ever!!!! I’ve started over on this podcast so many times 😭😭

I started listening to it for the third time this evening. Never loses its comedic brilliance or its' horrific reality. Thank you.

Update to my previous review(s): As much as I loved this show, I'm done with it and unsubscribing. Too many promises and announcements of more content and it never happens. The last episode released was in June of 2023, “Stepping In It” part 1. It’s now June 30, 2024, and nothing has been released in a year. Where is part 2? Ridiculous. I’ve listened to Grant’s other podcast and it's not for me. Someone else recently posted in their review that he was getting (or got) married in May so he can clearly make time for things that he cares about or are important to him. Unfortunately, it appears that the “My Funeral Home Stories” podcast is not one of them. *********************************************** Please tell me this show is back. I listened to all of the previous episodes in 2020/2021 and then everything just “ended”? I hope Grant is back for good because this is one of the most unique, entertaining and interesting podcasts out there. 5/28/23 Grant, PLEASE put out more episodes of this. You’re such a talented writer and narrator, along with your stories being so morbidly funny. 🪦 9/27/23 Grant, THANK YOU for an episode (the one released in June 2023) but here it is 3 months later and nothing else. I know you have to be busy (I gave the other podcast a try but it’s not for me) but seriously. If you make time for podcasting and other stuff why can’t you more stories for MFHS? It’s so disappointing, waiting, not knowing when or even if there might be a new episode. You’re great but even the most diehard listeners have their limits and I’m nearing mine. I may unsubscribe just so I don’t have to see the show in my catalogue and be reminded of the disappointment. Then I can just check every 3-4 months to see if, by chance, there’s a new one…. (Sigh)

I love this podcast, but it is so inconsistent. Promises of more episodes. Months go by, and then a 3 minute update. Promised new episodes starting January 5th, but none were delivered. He now gives an update in May about getting married? Congrats and all, but for those paying for content, they are getting shafted.

I bought the premium to get access to the new episode but was not granted the download now I have to go and dispute the charges. I did like this show, but after being promised new episodes and then not getting any for months on end, I have looked to other podcasts.

So it was great in the beginning and I think in the past year maybe year and half I’ve paid roughly 20$ for a promise of new content but never delivers on it (maybe 3 hours worth) but when he has a wedding to pay for everything is 50% off and we promise more content soon. Seen it for almost two years.

I love this podcast. I would give it a solid 5/5 for content. It’s just my type of dark entertainment. However, it is the most inconsistent podcast I have fallen in love with. Now I am pretty much over it. I say that, but the second a new episode appears I will listen to it. I understand podcasters make their money by subscribers, and I will subscribe and pay no problem, but I’m paying for consistency. I’m not going to pay for random episodes every 6 months or so. And then the “Episode coming!” Announcements and then months later one comes out randomly. Don’t advertise episodes and then not follow through. Go on hiatus or something and be transparent about it. It’s annoying and a major turn off for fans and potential sponsors.

This podcast is amazing and addicting…but it’s So inconsistent with posting episodes, so don’t get too attached.

I loved it! If I knew his podcasts were going to be CONSISTENT I would definitely pay. But I am not going to pay for each individual episode. That’s nuts! There is way too much content out there, with artists giving you an extra story for your financial support. He does have another podcast but I didn’t care for it. It’s a bummer because he is an extremely talented writer and his stories and the style in which he tells them is fantastic. I just wish he would be consistent.

This podcast is wonderful and his stories are engaging and entertaining. However he finally announced a new season, dropped one episode and then another one 6 months later. There have been a few episodes since then but nothing like it used to be. Now he is charging for episodes. So don’t get too attached to this show because it sounds like it will only be paid here on out.

I love this podcast!! I’m obsessed with this podcast. I even start from the beginning from time to time. It is absolutely amazing. Fantastic narration. I pay the premium fee for any bonus episodes because it is worth every penny!

Been listening since it debuted. Seriously real, witty, funny and sad! The genuineness of this is unmatched.

This is literally my favorite podcast, ever! And I subscribe to like 50 podcasts. Grant has very unique experiences, a voice that is easy to listen to, and a dark sense of humor while still being a compassionate human being. Dealing with death, personal issues, anda family business bring a unique dynamic and perspective to working in the funeral home business. If you’re into the morbid and macabre, you will love this podcast! Please, Grant, keep it coming!

Is it Christmas? I just opened my podcast app to see season 4 episode two dropping and I’m screaming! Grant is a fantastic, witty, dark storyteller with an edge. He can weave comedy into a pool of blood on the floor and make me want to stare into the void to see if there’s any more dopamine hits somewhere in there down at the bottom. I listened to these episodes when I felt down during covid and it was nice to feel less alone. For that, I will always be grateful for Grant’s willingness to share these experiences with us all. I’ve always been fascinated by funerary topics and mortuaries. It was cool to take a peek behind the veil with Grant. So happy, nay, stoked to hear Grant’s voice again and more mortal tales of fate. Keep killin’ it (not literally, don’t kill anyone for content) Grant! Every funeral director is jealous of you, probably.

Love listening to this show. It’s something different and positively so. But please tell me Grant is coming back soon?? It’s Feb 2023 and I look every week hoping season 3 pops up! Much props to Grant doing his line of work and this podcast-it’s addicting. Update: May 30, 2023- just listened to update from 2 days ago! Awesome to hear MFHS is back on June 23rd! This is one of the best pods I’ve ever listened to….and because of that, I’m in desperate need of more! Grant! Where are you hiding? Come back!

This podcast host does a super job of making the funeral business hilarious. His voice is so easy to listen to and the way he keeps talking about eating gas station sandwiches is making me want one right now. If you just don’t know which episode to start out, i recommend the 700 pound man. I’d love to listen every single day!! The ONLY complaint I have is that the ads are way TOO loud. I listen to podcasts almost all day and these ads are the loudest. In fact, if this wasn’t so funny and addictive I would have stopped listening due to the obnoxiously LOUD ads. Fix that, and I’m extremely pleased. Give this guy a listen. FIVE stars in spite of the loud ads!!

I am obsessed with this podcast! I love how detailed the stories are and the dark humor that is used often. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who loves the macabre and morbid with a touch of humor lol. Definitely gives off “Dexter” vibes. Also his voice is very comforting to listen to.

I love how he talks about dead, very natural and normal like eating or going to shower, very organic without being morbid or disrespectful. Please don’t quit telling us your stories they are fascinating. Thank you for the work you put to tell all the stories.

I listen while I decorate cookies for my business. I love how it mixes personal life and business life. Its like im watching a tv show in my mind. I have always had that urge to study and maybe have my own funeral business and this just inspires me to really go for it lol here I am decorating baby shower, rainbow cookies but wanting to be a mortician hahaha i love scary, spooky stuff so this was an awesome podcast!

Omg! This podcast is sooo good and it’s just what I have been looking for, don’t get me wrong I love my true crime podcast but this is golden.
