    Stop the giggling
I really enjoy the interviews on here and learn from the expert guests. But, please, for the love of all things holy, stop the nervous giggling. It’s so distracting.

Jargon in theory make apprehension a challenge
Wow so much jargon invented and theoretical. Explanations complicated. I’ve got advanced degrees and I still couldn’t easily apply the concepts.

    The BEST Guest Lineup
Truth be told, I adore Melissa & Lori! They truly have a heart for helping teachers through this podcast outlet. Week after week, I’m so impressed with the quality of guests they have on the show… the researchers, the real experts, and trusted voices in the Science of Reading community. Kudos to making the evidence accessible with this fabulous podcast!

    Great interviews
I have been listening to this podcast for a while and continue to be impressed by the various perspectives of the guests who are interviewed. This podcast is a great intro to structured literacy and also beneficial/worthwhile for people who already know a fair amount about the topic. I love to keep learning and Melissa and Lori do a great job interviewing their guests, often asking the same questions I am asking while I listen

    Dyslexia inspiration!
Thank you so much for the incredible interview with Ameer Baraka! The work we do as reading teachers and literacy leaders is incredibly important, and Ameer’s story was inspiring. I will pay it forward in my next YouTube video!

    Practical Applications, Fantastic Guests
As a curriculum specialist, I’ve found this podcast very helpful. The caliber of guests, relevant research, and practical tips make this podcast top on my list. I love the joy you both bring to education, and you clearly want your guests to feel welcome and comfortable, but I do find the giggling a little distracting. Maybe trim that and save for mini behind-the-scenes episodes??

    Keeps me learning more!
As a literacy specialist, I am always looking to learn more about how our brains learn to read. This podcast keeps me up to date on the latest research, especially when I don’t have time to sit down and do a lot of reading! I love to listen to it to and from work for inspiration! The information is quick, digestible, and rooted in research!

    The Most Helpful Teaching Podcast!
I’v learned so much from The Melissa and Lori Love Literacy podcast. I’ve worked in various capacities in the field of education for over 30 years and I love learning. I spend a lot of time reading and watching resources. Even with all this knowledge I continue to learn so much from the discussions had on this podcast. I love digging into a topic with multiple people over several episodes. Many times my thoughts and practices are affirmed but even better I take away some nugget that really makes a difference in what I’m doing with readers or how I’m approaching it. Thank you Melissa and Lori! I can’t wait for your book to publish!

    Hungry for Knowledge
I am so grateful for this podcast! I teach at a small, Christian school where we are limited in resources. I have learned so much from listening to these episodes and then purchasing books to read! I am a veteran teacher of 23 years, yet I still have so much to learn! I’m super thankful for the free resources offered to help our society get back to evidence based literacy instruction! ❤️

    Melissa and Lori Love Literacy
This is a helpful podcast, however their presentation is rough. One of these girls…who seems so very kind…has a nervous laugh throughout each episode. What I mean is that she repeatedly laughs when nothing is funny…just to fill space. Additionally, it takes them a long time in an interview to get down to what the listener actually wants to hear.

    Very informative—thank you!!
I love this podcast, specifically Episode 150 with the focus on secondary learners! As a high school remedial ELA teacher, I appreciate Melissa and Lori taking the time to shine the spotlight on literacy needs at the secondary level, a group majorly overlooked by research and intervention programs (aside from Dr. Archer’s REWARDS). I would greatly appreciate additional podcasts focused on secondary students, ones that really hone in on multisyllabic decoding, and eventually, reading comprehension. Although these skills need to be taught similarly to primary reading intervention, my students are young adults that need the strategies taught to them in a more age-appropriate way. Building a classroom culture of acceptance and support really doesn’t cut it with teens living on the street or on drugs.

    Good content
I really appreciate the content this podcast provides. The ONLY thing that is very hard to listen to is the nervous laughter or laughter for no reason. It is so off-putting and distracting. But truly the hosts are kind and do a good job asking questions that keep the interviews going and stay on topic.

    Thought Provoking
The speakers that these ladies have on their show always leave me thinking about how I can improve my instruction and implement all the things they talk about. I love how Melissa and Lori put themselves in the teacher’s position and ask the questions teachers would have. Every episode is applicable, and I have huge takeaways from each. Thank you for all of the work you put in to making this podcast amazing.

    Thank you!
Your passion for teaching reading really comes through in your podcasts. The work you are doing, shining a light on how reading is taught, is invaluable. I learn so much from listening. Thank you, and please don’t stop until we can turn the tide on raising literacy in our country!

    So helpful and meaningful!
This pod has been an invaluable resource as my county shifts it’s ELA instructional focus to align with the science of reading. I have been able to dive deeper, get questions answered, and broaden my understanding of a knowledge based approach all by listening on my way to work! The hosts and guests break down the various elements necessary for successful literacy instruction into bite sized episodes that are applicable to improving how I approach my classroom daily. THANK YOU for teaching me how to do better for my students!

If you want to learn and grow…this is the podcast!
This podcast simultaneously feels like a warm hug and a kick in the butt to know more, learn more, and to improve practices for all students. Melissa and Lori do an incredible job of bringing out the best in each of their guests and helping to ask the questions that educators would ask themselves if they could.

    Fantastic Podcast!
Love the guests and how much research is done to let us teachers know what should be done in our classrooms (science of reading practices) instead of what is being mandated to be done (workshop models). Wish we now could get more time for science and social studies content to be given just as much press! Unfortunately these subjects are being pushed off because of time for reading and math focus. Maybe more with thematic units and interdisciplinary units. Thanks for podcasting!!

    Educative, thoughtful, encouraging
I love this podcast! As a former teacher still working in education, I’m constantly in awe with how much I’m still learning in each podcast. The experts in this field are guests, everything is backed by research so it’s indisputable, and the hosts’ questions are thought provoking and relevant. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone but especially to teachers, parents, and leaders in education. So much to learn, so much more to do.

    My favorite podcast!!
I am a former teacher with a child with learning disabilities. This has been the best podcast to learn what I did not learn I college about how children learn to read. Excellent guests, links and resources. Melissa and Lori keep up with the latest research, are relatable and open minded. I recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about reading instruction and the science of reading.

    Thoughtful, insightful, accessible
Melissa and Lori make really complex topics accessible and provide access to thought leaders AND everyday teachers who are bringing the latest evidence-based research to the field of literacy education. Every podcast is so informative and inspiring. They never talk down to educators and truly come to the work with authenticity and humility as well as humor. I love it!

    Must listen for all educators!
There has not been an episode that hasn’t challenged my thinking or inspired me to be a better educator. I love everything this show stands for! It has been the perfect resource for me as I have processed my districts adoption of Wit and Wisdom. The episodes on fluency are my favorite!

Reading science is an art and a pleasure to learn
This is a really high quality show with great research and conversation. As a parent teacher there are hundreds of great takeaways and concepts covered so that I can best lay the foundation for my learner. Super thankful to have a place where I can come and absorb all the great guests, topics and start to ask the really big questions myself with how I approach teaching reading, and what best serves all readers. Amazing. Thanks so much

    The educators all kids deserve!
I just discovered the pod and binging through it all! I live in a neighboring jurisdiction to Baltimore city—where the science of reading, the knowledge gap, cognitive development, are stubbornly resisted from the district down. While we have a population of students/resources far greater than the city, we continue to ignore the best practices (stubborn equity gap persists and grows). I am so encouraged by the work amd effort from your super intendent—who absolutely grasps the challenge that has persisted in the city for 4+decades. She has made great strides in her tenure, most notably in her commitment to LITERACY! I am so glad that you two exude those changes for your students. You are a gift to those students you serve, working and exploring how to serve them best! I hope you will engage with teacher prep programs in our state. Professional development—cannot compare to a focus and practice in the undergraduate prep. The teachers deserve it—the tools and experience to perform their role. The students deserve nothing less! Thank you for all you do!
