    The Well part 1
Pulls you right in…the dialogue was believable as was the sad and engrossing story of human nature. I highly recommend you listen for yourself! No spoilers from me!

    More Ian!
This podcast was very good for the first couple of years. There were some repeating themes and imagery as far as people who grew up in church and then came to not believe in God at all, and the smile that stretched too far, etc. but it was still very enjoyable. After that, it was hit or miss for me, and I came to realize that I only like the episodes that are written by Ian Epperson. I don’t care at all for the eroticism, either. Please, Ian! Write more!

    Wow!
I was totally hooked by the first story! These folks do a great job. I didn’t even realize that I had spent 2 hours listening to this podcast. I think everyone needs to give this podcast a try. You will really enjoy being creeped out by it. Follow up on this review can’t remember exactly when I made this; I can’t see the date, but I’ve been a day one listener and every time I hear an episode of this I am just more and more in love how these stores are done. These guys do an amazing job you gave a little bit of romance, a little bit of that slow burn creepy and just a little bit of something for everybody.

    what happened
why is this turning into an erotica podcast lol… i thought it was horror?? it seems like the older episodes are more focused on scary stories but the camping one im listening to now literally has had FOUR sex scenes already. like we get it… what are they going for at this point??
  • notYOURaverageMOM
    Spiders ugh.. Creepy
That story hits me hard, reminds me of my daughter and I. The spider thing creeps me out I have a thing with bugs, getting the house sprayed beforehand and then bringing in the painting from old house not having other spiders or bugs to eat them. They became top on the food chain… That is scary..

Great storytelling! It’s like watching a movie in your head.

    No longer worth listening to
2025 UPDATE: Finally gave up - this show has fully become NSFW in every episode, and the producers don’t even have the decency to tag it. Even episodes without explicit sex scenes will be themed around sex and sexual relationships, which is equally NSFW for those of us listening at work. So over this show, used to be my favorite but I have unsubscribed and won’t listen again. REVIEW OF 2024 CONTENT: Quality has taken a massive nosedive! Feels much more like a quickly produced horror anothology than the deep, well-produced, thought-provoking content it used to be. The episodes promoting their new horror erotica podcast are also disgusting - not only is mixing horror/gore with sexual content a terrible idea for your brain, but the cutoff in the episode is pretty far into the sex scene. The episode “Tell Me What You Like” is solely about a woman’s issues with her boyfriend during sex, so even though the episode isn’t explicit persay, it is still solely about sex and is therefore NSFW and shouldn’t have been posted here. Pretty close to unsubbing and not listening anymore. PRE-2024 REVIEW: These are some of the best stories! So engaging and well done, beautiful and meloncholy, where the true horror is sadness lol Love love the voice actors (especially Brooke), and can’t get enough! Just keep in mind to have your phone on hand so you can skip the 5-10 min of ads and announcements at the beginning and you’re good! Also some of the earlier eps are very quiet, so if you listen at work like me it’ll be hard to hear the older eps - you’ll need both earbuds in for those ones.

    What happened to the writing?
I have been listening to this show for a couple of years and I absolutely loved the writing. The story lines were well thought of and presented psychological burns with hints of horror. I don’t know what’s up with the writing this past year. This podcast has written more eroticism to its story lines which are unnecessary. I am not against having a sex scene or two once in a while but this podcast wasn’t like that initially nor advertised as such. I don’t like it and I’m not the only listener that has expressed this. I hope the writer’s listen to the feedback and scale back the eroticism and love triangles. I would love to continue to support this podcast.

    Spoonpoint Horror
The production quality is fantastic and I genuinely enjoy the voice acting. However, scary, or even creepy, this show is not. At best there’s some very slow burn dread and at worst it’s a dramatic beach read that may have some horror elements. If you like the two part story of “Maine” you’ll like this podcast, but if you don’t, I’d move along.

    Used to be so good
I really enjoyed this show so much in the past when it was just telling great, interesting, creepy stories instead focusing so much on sex, that’s a dime a dozen where as the story telling w the psychological slow burn and amazing sound scape was really special / unique ..wish yall would go back to that 🥺
  • Father’s dark friend
    High quality
I believe that this deserves ten stars so keep it going!! And I love edging

    Beneath the Pines
Love the vivid imagery!! Really enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. and that it was written in first person!
  • Moelightsound
    Super Spooky!
Beneath the Pines, by CJ Goldberg freaked me the eff out! Wonderfully well-written, narrated, and produced. But so creepy and scary!! I’m glad I didn’t listen before bed, cause I would be staring out the window at the snowy woods, all night. The writing brought me right into the story’s setting, and then…. Oh boy! This story was so spooky that I HAD to write a review! Awesome work, CJ!!!

Wow... very good story and the actors superb

    When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s bad…
I love this kind of anthology podcast and it’s hard to find a good one. I was thrilled when I started 13; the first episodes were very strong. And many others are as well, but there have been several that I stopped listening to because the writing was so awful. Even in the best ones, though, the main writers repeat certain phrasings and tropes. It’s probably more obvious when listening to back-to-back episodes, but there ARE other words besides “grazing” for the gentle brushing of hands or lips; not every creepy character has to have the “corners of their mouth” turning up in a “smirk,” or have a “too-wide smile.” I’ll keep listening because the good stories are worth it and the actors are better than in many podcasts, but am equally sure that I’ll be abandoning eps.

    Would have been 5 Stars
-5 Years Later- I/we could live without the hat-tip to the most recent social contagion know as “Gender Identity” The accompanying mutilation (often of children) makes this a buzz-kill to say the least……. Uk,Sweden,Finland all have banned this barbaric practice.
  • McGoGo
    Fun and spooky
Really great stories, acting, and production value. Very timely for Halloween The latest episode, "The most dangerous side hustle", is a great modern twist on the haunted house
  • Marksc03111
    Background music RUINS the stories
The background music on many of the stories just does NOT match the story and is too loud and distracting. The stories and narration seem to be good but the music just demands to take center stage and often times upstages (not in a good way) the story itself. Please change, lower the volume of, or better yet, just get rid of the music playing in the background altogether.

    Sept 2024 Update…Previous: Credit given
I keep coming back in hopes of the return to the prior content quality (see prev review below). Just finished listening to, “The Most Dangerous Side Hustle” and I genuinely feel like those were 35+ mins of my life that I’ll never get back. Brutal honesty - the story was almost comically lame. If the intention was to be campy, it missed the mark. The voice acting was unfortunate and overdone. Being close to Halloween, I’ll give this pod a bit more time to get it together before I permanently unfollow. 4 stars because this pod was superb but recently seemed to decline in quality. The more recent episodes have themes which are quite obtuse and meandering. The recent plots seem disconnected from the characters themselves…it is dangerously bordering on self-indulgent. Sticking with it in hopes it returns to its former glory.

    Great episodes
"The most dangerous side tussle" was a perfect kickofff to spooky season!!! Thank you

Really love the Fall of 98!
Fall of 98 was a really good listen. I usually don’t like religious dramas bc it’s triggering but I related to every detail in the story bc I experienced that evangelistic Christianity too growing up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    What happened?
I’ve been gone from this pod for a little over a year. I remembered it, looking forward to more spooky, well crafted stories with moody music. I started with the newest stories and am 4 in… what happened? ☹️
  • Pdlily
    What happened??
I joined the Patreon because this show was so different, so intelligent, so atmospheric, and so professionally voiced. This Grim Reaper episode was schlock. I figured it out 2 minutes in. No offense to Mr. DuFort, but he is perfect for Creepy, and totally unsuited for this broadcast. If this continues, I’ll be dropping my Patreon and looking for something new to support

    Good stories
Getting tired of everything being lgbtq+ though.

    Quality stories & production
There are quite a few horror/suspense podcasts and most don’t live up to the hype. This one goes above and beyond. The stories are unique and well developed. The voices, sound quality, and soundtrack are all first rate.
  • zombie0651
    Had to change my rating
Everything is super anti Christian, pro gay; gets old.
  • My name is Dave peeps
Your voice in episode one is sooooo annoying
Thanks a lot man for making it so I can’t even listen. Why are you doing that with your voice you little pedo
  • Amanda Kathryn Scoggins
    Low key engrossing horror
This wasn’t quite what I expected, the stories really take their time developing context and characters, it’s really unique I feel like among horror podcasts.
  • Miss Musick
    …great stories…but…
What’s with the whispering soft narrator? Gets super annoying after awhile.
  • Afasoccerguy
Not what I expected but I’m addicted
I enjoy paranormal and horror style podcasts like the antiaquarium of sinister happens and this podcast was recommended. I’m only about 10 episodes in (March 2021, as of writing this) and just listened to The Long Weekend. Each story is thrilling and suspenseful but you never quite know what your going to get. That’s what makes this podcast so different. Highly recommend and I’ve been recommending it to friends.
  • NathanM2584
    Love this show
What not to love about a good story. The narrators are awesome and story the stories are absolutely captivating. It’s a must hear podcast.

One of the best horror anthologies
Absolutely love this atmospheric and character-driven horror podcast! I always look forward to new episodes!

    Used to be good
I really don’t like this podcast anymore. It’s just so stupid.
  • TMS4785
    Wow
I hardly leave reviews but I needed to for this …. Episode 1 had me and by the end of episode 2 I was hooked . Very well put together and can’t wait to keep listening .

    Love the stories!!
I came here from the Olive Hill podcast (which I loved) and I’m really enjoying this. I’m a licensed massage therapist and I listen while massaging to make the day pass by and to keep my mind on something. One of my all time favorite podcasts is Borrasca with Cole Sprouse and Ian sounds just like him!! Sometimes I forget I’m not listening to Cole! Keep up the good work. Whitney

    Great
Amazing production and great storytelling!! Love it! Found you thru scare me to sleep thanks Shelby!!
  • Not-fun
    Wasted potential
If youre here to be spooked, you're out of luck past the first 2 episodes. If youre here to jerk off, you might find the overwhelmingly christian backdrop of most episodes a mood killer. This podcast doesnt know who it is or what it wants to be and listeners suffer for their lack of development. Me, i came here for horror not softcore porn and midwest church anxiety. What a fool i was.
  • BryceW.
    Great story telling!
I’ve only just finished the 3rd episode but I’m writing this review because the names they chose for the two boys who took the girls to prom are mine and my brothers names and I thought that was hilarious! Im throughly enjoying the story telling and will be listening to more!
  • tdyoung167
    Very good; life changing
This show was recommended to me by my wife. She knows that I appreciate horror but that I don’t always care for jump scares and gratuitous amounts of violence. I checked out Thirteen and it was incredible; it’s the exact genre of horror I didn’t know I’d been looking for. I ran to tell my wife about an episode and suddenly, I remembered: my wife died 13 years ago—long before this podcast was ever established.

    Good Show
I look forward to this every month!
  • sass_sa_frass
    Meh
This podcast is hit or miss with more misses than hits as it continues. I find the narrator with the southern accent to be irritating and I’m from the south 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • TLHart83
    Great listening
My favorites are the ones written by Ian but theyre all wonderful and creepy.
