casimiratttttNot sureLove the idea. I live in portland and find that you need to update your information. Overdoes are way up and the highest in the country among children. The optics aren’t the smoking drugs vs beer drinkers. It is watching as a beautiful soul slowly fades until they die. If that sound poetic, it’s not. It’a gruesome, grotesque, and horrific.

BrookeCXZInsightfulVery good writing, information/history told in story form. Always walk away feeling appreciative of something, but more inclined to protect what I would have otherwise considered a “given”.

LllffzzA failure of imaginationThis podcast fails at its central idea. The host has far too narrow and limited an imagination to truly think of anything being radically different. This is best seen in the episode “A World Without Prisons” which is actually only about the idea of one country without private prisons on a federal level. What a minuscule thing to explore compared to the claim of the title and the idea of the show. Expanding our imagining of the world is central to the work of prison abolitionists. This is a well established idea. There are activists, scholars, policymakers, and artists who this show could have looked to in order to actually try to explore how to imagine a world without prisons. But it didn’t do that. It did the opposite - starting with a large claim, but treating that as unthinkable and so creating instead an extremely narrow imagined set of possibilities. That is emblematic of the failure of imagination which is this show. This show is harmful.

willow0987At Last!I’ve been looking for a Radiolab-like podcast replacement (to say that I miss the original hosts is putting it mildly)—and I’ve found it! What a treat! Can’t wait to discover what’s ahead. Hooked.

StarSharonA hidden gemI stumbled on this wonderful podcast and now I'm hooked. Every episode is filled with interesting information that goes beyond its title and provides details most people have never heard of. There's nothing dry about the episodes either. It's professionally done with a great host, audio and writing. So far I've listened to Antibiotics, Cash (this episode was too short and) Phosphorus. I'm following it now.

CPN87Perfect for commutes and a quick “learn something” listenI’m loving having this show be part of my weekly routine. A shortish listen where i learn about a different mundane yet important thing every week. I can’t believe the sand bandits!
