Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later

Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later takes place two years after Julius Caesar failed to beware the Ides of March and got stabbed to death by a band of well-wishers. Now the assassins have been rounded up and slaughtered in battle, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief. But who’s in charge now?

With things on the verge of absolute collapse, the cool and calculating Cleopatra, the Queen of the Nile, has swung by for an extended visit. She’s eager to renew an alliance with Rome by any means necessary – including marriage and/or murder.

A dramatic comedy of power politics, whirlwind romances, and running fast to get nowhere

    Amazing!!!
Absolutely amazing! I wish there was more! It ended on such an awful/amazing cliffhanger, I desperately want to know what’s next but it also gives off that amazing sense of eagerness and excitement ya know? Amazing show, 10/10 recommend.

Hilarious writing, great acting, wonderful sound effects. Just a perfect podcast. Love the story & the modern British slang in context of a historical story is just the icing on the cake!!

A funny thing happened on the way to the Curia
First, think of all the great sword-and-sandal epics: Spartacus, Antony and Cleopatra, and so on. Then think of classic comedies like A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Up Pompei. Now think of classical skullduggery in the mode of I, Claudius. Add an alternate history where things happen just a little bit differently. Even…queerly. Add some of the best writing, voice acting, and sound production you've ever heard in a podcast...and pirates. Now stir. I love it.

    Exquisitely silly and smart
As a Wooden Overcoats aficionado, I am DELIGHTED by this new show from the same creator. I’m a few episodes in, and can’t wait to listen to the rest and see where it goes. Vivid characters, laugh out loud jokes, and classic sitcom silliness - all expertly delivered. Give this a listen!

    Lend them your ears
This series is super fun - it is incredibly difficult to make the ancient world come alive, but Barnes and the team have done n excellent job with this podcast. I am constantly smiling at the repartee, wincing at Octavian being a nervous wreck, and wrinkling my nose at Marc Anthony pissing himself. Quite good.

Well made, funny, and all around great!
Honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in, but this podcast has been amazing! The actors are talented, there’s quality audio, and the premise and execution is hilarious! I can’t think of anything to be desired from this show! Great job RQ, hope Cry Havoc continues and grows!

    This Right Here!
I love Cry Havoc: Ask Questions Later. It’s pretty difficult to find a podcast with this level of audio quality, comedy, and relevant historical fiction! Every week is a different adventure! I highly recommend this podcast to literally anyone who listens to podcasts. Maybe even people who don’t! Just listen.
